What is the Solheim Cup?
@ 36 SteepsHe said it all...Confused as confusion!Just about sums him up. If your confused, ask questions. Don't comment on things your confused about.Personally looking forward to it.Great game, great rivalry, great competition played by great players.Good luck Europe!
Hang on this is womens golf - its not a real game, its right up there with womens football, rugby and boxing. And all the time they are pottering around whacking a ball across the green the dishes are going unwashed, the ironing undone and dinner is not on the table. The only time golf is acceptable for women is when its a home putting set placed in the kitchen
Sick and tired of those with no interest in golf making inane comments. I have little interest in football these days, a game totally ruined by money and player's antics but refrain from making negative comments. Try telling all the ex footballers, cricketers, rugby players, hockey players at my club that golf is not a sport and not the most difficult sport they've played and you'll be ridiculed.
@51You are correct.Golf is a game not a sport, your post however indicates you know very little about golf and even less about women.
Thought the Solheim Cup was sailing.
Women usually have the common sense and intelligence to avoid boring sports like golf; still, some slip through the cultural net! No-one will know the result and no-one will care, especially women! 50 comments proves this point. Golf is a dying, boring pastime. It is not a sport.
boring! who really cares!
As an ex scratch golfer and a member of the 'ladies should be in the kitchen' brigade, I switched the Solheim Cup on last time with very little interest. The golf being played was fantastic so frankly I am a bit of a convert to top class Ladies Pro golf!
Quite amusing that only the better golfers (comment-32, a scratch) appreciate how good the ladies play golf. I find the Curtis cup just as enthralling as the Ryder cup, with a myriad of skills on display including 285 yard drives. I would like to see a 14 handicap male try and complete with the LPGA ladies (not a chance)!
What!!! Ladies play golf ??Oh come on, someone somewhere is getting the meaning of the word iron mixed up.Next thing you'll be telling me they play football & cricket.
No-one cares. The ladies aren't as good as the men but the sport itself is incredibly boring so few will watch this. Darts is more fun and that's a pub game. It's not really a sport, it's a pastime for bored shepherds in Scotland.
Dont watch much golf but caught 5 minutes of the walker cup and could not believe it when it looked like one of the gb team moved his ball nearer the hole when picking up his marker,Blonde hair player.think it was on 17th on first day Might have been deceptive camerawork so not sure.
@28 Gaz43Spot on! I recall that old team event where they played matchplay/strokeplay,probably the most boring golf ever screened but pure matchplay is unbeatable for both playing and watching.
I do wish upon the ex-colonial ladies a 'hammering' (shame on you BBC). I hope the USA play well along with their adversaries and that Europe come out on top - just - in an exciting last hole thriller. No one likes a 'no contest', too boring. If the USA win, sobeit, by the law of averages they are due a win.
41 - agreed - bunch of w ....rs
BBC - I note you block some comments on this golf section and probably with good reason. However, why do you allow comments like the fool at :-36. Posted by steeps the Teddy Bear to be viewed, If people are only going to slag the sport or the event -- BLOCK THEM. I do not go on to other sports sections and make comments about their sport. What makes this people feel the need to type such trash
