Guernsey champions Kay Mapley and Steve Mahy may not compete in next year's Island Games, which will be held in Gotland.
Mapley won her sixth title on Sunday at L'Ancresse, having taken bronze in the team event at the 2015 Island Games.
"I don't know - it's a commitment," she told BBC Radio Guernsey.
"You have to be prepared to put the time in, the practice and the build-up so you're going there hopefully on your game, to represent the island well."
Mapley was part of the squad that went to Gotland, which is Sweden's largest island, when the Games was staged there in 1999.
Mahy claimed his first Guernsey title last month and took home a silver medal from Jersey last year in the team event.
Asked about his chances of competing in Gotland, he said: "I think I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for that now, but we'll see how it goes."
