Michael Hoey lost ground at the Lyoness Open in Austria after carding a third-round 75 on Saturday.

Hoey was only six off the pace in Atzenbrugg at the halfway stage but has now dropped 13 behind leader South African Zander Lombard.

The Belfast man could only manage one birdie as he also carded two bogeys and a double bogey at his penultimate hole.

Prior to his 41st place at last week's Nordea Masters, Hoey had missed his 11 previous cuts.

His round on Saturday left on him on two over par for the tournament.

Hoey looked set for a top-20 finish in Sweden last weekend before taking a quintuple bogey eight at the penultimate hole.

His cheque for just over £7,000 moved him from 231st to 211th in the Race to Dubai standings.

The Galgorm Castle touring professional's last previous cheque had come when he was joint 66th at the Abu Dhabi Championship in January.

Hoey has won five European Tour titles during his career with his last victory coming at the Russian Open in 2013.
