Ian Woosnam's chance to win the Jersey Open on home soil slipped away as Austrian Gordon Manson won a three-way play-off at La Moye.
Jersey resident Woosnam led after each of the first two days, firing back-to-back rounds of 67 to take him to 10 under for the tournament.
But Manson and England's Gary Wolstenholme pegged him back as the trio finished on ten under.
Manson's birdie on the third play-off hole saw him take the title.
Woosnam had missed his own birdie putt from four feet on the previous hole which, had it dropped, would have seen him lift the trophy.
Fourteen former Ryder Cup players were in action over the three rounds, with Colin Montgomerie the most notable absentee.
La Moye used to host a main European Tour event until the mid 1990s, when they lost the event and replaced it with a senior competition.
But a lack of money forced the event to be cancelled after 2010 until it returned in 2015, with Australian Peter Fowler taking the title.
