Good to see USA getting team spirit going well. Bubba overlooked twice then picked as 5th vice captain. I understand players dont like either Moore or Bubba also.
#144 Tamerio; "nobody has picked up the big piece of luck that came Rory's way."Did you actually watch? First that incident occurred on the 2nd play-off hole and was preceded on the first by both Chappell and Moore receiving free drops, and then being allowed to place their balls, after they'd pulled their drives deep into the left trees. It could've been over right there. Great viewing.
@159 That's fair
Loath him or love him, just a normal person doin something he loves and just happens to be good at getting that wee white ball from A to B in less shots than most, rock on Rory.
@153 the truth : Sure he earns a lot of money but he gives a lot to charity. You are the embarrassing species ( or should I say faeces )
@153 what a sanctimonious comment. I'm sure you feel morally superior having got that off your chest.
Glad to Rory recovered from those consecutive double bogies early on...Still, he needs to cut them out - then there won't keep being an ongoing need for heroic comebacks. Two great finishing rounds! Get in there!
I do find golf painfully tedious but even I would admit there is skill involved, in fact a lot. Otherwise we'd all become golf professionals if it was that easy. Even the pros don't get it right a lot of the time.
So, according to some, there's no skill involved in golf!! You've clearly never played the game then if that's your view.A survey carried out a few years back reported that fewer than 25% of club golfers ever broke 90 and fewer still regularly played to their official handicap.Considering that the ball isn't moving when you attempt to hit it, golf remains incredibly difficult to play well.
Yes, I'm sure he earned every single, shiny penny.After all, hitting a ball into a hole with a stick for 4 days is infinitely more useful and valuable to society & humanity than, say, cleaning the faeces of the old and infirm for 300 years (which is how long a nurse would have to work to earn the same).What an embarrassing species.
@148 stanleyoaf : So you don't like him then ?
Well done, Rory. Nice to see him back in the groove after a bit of a loss of form when he made so many changes to clubs and sponsors a while back. All that prize money. It must be more than he gets at his day job at the bank. Where does he pay his tax? I bet Uncle Sam gets a big bite.
