It was nice chatting with you guys on the Genesis Open. I am guessing now that TW has packed his bags and gone home, without a whimper on the golf course ( Maybe we should rename him Pussy Cat? ) , there will be nothing heard from the BBC until his next tournament. Seriously, how sad is that?
"Woods will exit the Genesis Open after missing the cut..."Tigexit. Good luck to ALL of the players!
3. Tiger has devolved while the game 2day has evolved, even since Tiger last won in 2013. Todays golfers, especially the youth are standing on his shoulders having studied & implemented the very work ethic & professionalism Tiger once benefitted from before golf become the professionalised sport we see today. Essentially Tiger paved the way & using his own blueprint, the talent has passed him by.
2. Tiger needs great ballstriking if he’s to ever win again. The performance facts show for the heavy majority of winners, they win a result of superior T2G performance - putting is certainly important, just for the most part, far less important when it comes to scoring and winning.
@39 OnTheUp : He does look he favours the fade and maybe this approach helps relieve pressure on his back ? With regards to ' avoidance golf ' while I agree to a point, Trevino did a good job on that basis and maybe the same could be said for even the greatest ' player ' Hogan who for his early career was ravaged by a hook ?
Tiger will never win another PGA Tour event again. Why? 3 key reasons…1. Tiger is not in command of his swing physically or mentally & hasn't been for years. He's playing 'avoidance golf' in trying to take out 1 side of the course & steers away from playing the draw as it opens himself upto his dreaded double cross as we saw in rd 2. The dreaded 2-way miss is the bane for all tour pros.
Yawn, yawn, yawn and yawn. More HYS moaners re Tiger coverage.
Meanwhile, gmac in joint lead, must say I didn’t see that coming, but good on him. Hope he can back that up over the weekend.
TW and RM are only headline news because the wretched hacks make it so. It's self fulfilling. They're in the headlines because they're in the headlines because they're in the headlines because ...ad nauseam. Is meaningful, insightful, informative reporting so difficult? Apparently and evidently it is.
Significant to see that the majority of comments now see the reality of the Tiger phenomenon. He is (sadly) finished at the top level of golf and there is no way back from that. It is the responsibility of those who report on the game to accept this reality and finally move on from their sycophantic obsession with a frankly flawed character who was last competitive on a proper course 10 years ago.
Short game was good; putting was excellent (..Rory would buy that part off him!).25 putts.... oh, he's also ahead of the World #1! ------You are aware there are 2 occasions when you have 25 putts.1. You just shot 10 under.2. You can't hit your hat or a green to save your life.Which is Tiger?
When you're paying more in fines for swearing than you're earning with your clubs it's time to quit. Here's your courtesy car Mr Woods, are we having it back Friday night again?
Even today the BBC main golf headline is about Woods - he is a has been! The BBC is failing to report real news and is no longer meeting their Royal charter of impartial news and should have their funding removed - they do not offer value for the licence fee.Too many out of touch reporters on too high pay and no accountability.
Play suspended due to darkness? Are these boys getting slower out there? or is it getting darker quicker and earlier? or are they spending too long looking for Tigers ball since his comeback? lolDid I read on here somewhere that he was going to win the Masters? Is nobody else turning up for the event? Sorry for only talking about TW but I am on the BBC and that appears to be what they wish.
