There seems to be a plethora of anti-McIlroy comments. Why don't people just accept that he reached No.1 in the world and then suffered a few setbacks. He's struggled occasionally, but when he gets it together, he's unbeatable. Unfortunately, he's a young man and the world press and sponsors push him forward for comments and publicity for their own ends. Don't blame him for trying to be positive.
Love playing golf ,hate watching it,more and more.Is it just me?
#62 "probably the best player these shores have ever seen"Though not just yet, he's still a little way to go, but it's up to him if he makes it or not..
RM is already one of the greats, not only with golf but all the charity work he does he always gives an honest opinion and probably the best player these shores have ever seen,a true legend in the making.
@51 Stevie:"the world is his oyster"Rory's noise annoys an oyster, lol.
@59 And he didn't 'cap' the win at Medinah, he actually won the cup with his half point. Kaymer merely retained the cup which seems to have been ignored. And while we are on the subject, I don't think Kaymer shook hands with Stricker at the end of his match - just went off and acted like a loony. Poor form.
"back in 2012 he beat Tiger Woods in the singles to cap the Miracle at Medinah" - uh...No. No he did not. That match was halved.
McIlroy just not a nice person with an over inflated idea of his own importance. Good golfer but will never be one of the greats.
I don't think RM deserved to win this. However, had he drained that eagle putt on the last I'm not sure Molinari would have holed to win outright. Small margins.
Well Well - I was hammered on this page after commenting that a lot of people were getting ahead of themselves in respect to Rory Roaring at Wentworth. Rory has hardly put four good rounds together. If he cannot close out that event with a field miles less talented than he is then he may well become a serious under achiever. RM is becoming easy to dislike and his lack of shouting FORE .??
@51Talk less? What does he say at all those press conferences, which he HAS to be paraded at for the sponsors, then? You obviously being a trained psychologist, should he say to the golfing world that he's having mental issues or should he try to be confident and say positive things about himself and his golf game?I must have missed the part where he said he was 'greater than the game'?
Well done Molinari...McIlroy is mentally very weak with no Plan B...Driver not working so need to hit it harder. Another failure and another mental scar of not being able to close it out...Never mind, it’s only The Masters that’s worthwile. ABM!!!
Rowray Makillroy is a hacker
"McIlroy was level through nine, struggling to attack the leader. He missed fairways and greens, and failed to set up birdie chances."Stormed on Friday and sank on Sunday.
Rory is a super-talented golfer. His challenge is entirely mental. He needs to talk less and think more. Course management included. He needs to surround himself with people who question and challenge him. And he has to listen with humility. No man (or woman) is greater than the game. Golf always wins. Rory needs to remember that. If he does, the world is his oyster.
