Interesting seeing the write-up of Spieth's interaction with the gallery while he was dealing with the ball search and the shot. I encountered Rahm and his caddy about 50 yards offline on Friday and it was all smiles, apologies for scaring anyone, thanking everyone for their help in giving him enough space, easy charm from him and his caddy. Bit different with Spieth.

ShockingWe need BBC showing the big events...Test matches, Olympics, Golf

#3. Why say something like that. The young man is a serial winner. Please look up his career before making such silly remarks
A good article which tells it straight. Spieth is a great player but yesterday his lack of form this season came back to haunt him and the bit of luck he had at Birkdale was missing. He will be back as he does have a great feel for links golf.
"I felt like we played really quickly.“At least if his golf falters he’ll have a backup career as a comedianQuickly? He doesn’t know the meaning of the word!
A quality young player who will no doubt win more majors, can't have good rounds all the time.
Absolutely crap that the only way to see any of the Open, and especially the traditionally entrancing climatic last hours, was on Sky. What happened to the BBC coverage? Spieth got beat, end of, others bottled it more.
Spieth needs to get some bottle from somewhere - because he doesn't have any.
Considering the form he has been in he did well to get into contention let alone leadThe strengths of his game are course management, yardage control & obviously puttingWhat possessed him to try & play 3 wood from that lie only he can tell us After that he seemed to be double guessing every shot & the putter then got a real chillHe will come back many more majors to come for him
Fine piece of writing, Tom. Ironically it had pace something which the subject, although a fine player, doesn't have.
