After 11 years.Just rejoice.
A great comeback for sure but George Foreman's winning boxing comeback where the risk was death not just not getting a green jacket is greater.
@273I rather think that's a lesson on what a peculiar bunch those Americans actually are. Why anyone would work themselves into that sort of state is quite beyond my comprehension.
Is he still drinking Stella Artoia?
Tiger played chess with FM for 11 holes and then FM blinked on 12 - as did Brooks in the group ahead! Tiger was never going for that pin it was always middle of the green and get the par. That's what the greats do as Jack before him.Tiger then birdied 13, 15 and 16 holding off two players who hold the other 3 majors and beat the likes of DJ, Rickie and Xander.
Having just returned from Augusta I can tell you that the sheer weight and power of emotion that was behind Tiger was utterly astonishing. No-one could live with that force field around him on Sunday. At the end, by the 18th, I saw people hugging and kissing and dancing with delight. It was extraordinary. A lesson in forgiveness, determination and the power of positive thinking. Magnificent.
Some on this HYS must hate themselves even more than they hate Tiger Woods.Probably spent their entire cynical lives assuming that if they knock enough people down, they'll rise like cream to the top.Well, I'm sorry, but something called scum does that too.
This was great golf, Tiger won. End of !
Give Tiger a break. Tiger is one of the all time greatest and the editor and author should be ashamed for writing this hit piece to destroy his accomplishments. What a sad day when a guy can only be recognized for negatives when all he has done to achieve his legacy in Golf.
Does make a change for HYS not to be focussed on Rory McIlroy for a day or 2!
Tiger is not my favourite golfer and I have lambasted him and said that he wouldn't win another major, but I have to take my hat off to him and his reaction from the winning putt to the presentation of the jacket was VERY emotional for him and me.Well played and well deserved Tiger
Amazing the amount of positive headlines that come out about Woods now that there may indeed be a few bob to be made out of him again in the press.A man who was kicked so hard while he was down and battled health issues to get back to the top. Sunday must have felt so sweet for the man.
LOL! So much vitriol directed at TW.
For me personally, I thought Tiger Woods went out and won this tournament by clever play. He manipulated his ball strategically around Augusta which can bite you when under pressure, but he minimised the errors while others around him were making plenty.I loathe watching players just bombing the ball from the tees and wedging it into the green eg Johnson & Koepka, to me that is boring.
Saw the whole days play, did Woods win it or did all those on under12 blow it.You have to conclude they blew it as did most of the pack but the record books shows he won so best of luck to him.
Woods was driving under influence but it was drug related. Whether one chooses to believe the official explanation for that is another matter entirely.
Well, I am now eating a huge humble pie all to myself. I predicted that not only would Rafa Nadal not win another major( he has won 3), but also that Tiger was finished as his peak was disrupted by scandals and injuries. Now he is three away from joining Nicklaus at the summit and I think he will be there USPGA 2022.
re people commenting on Woods being a drunk driver, am I mistaken in thinking that he had a bad reaction to his medication? If so, that's not being drunk, is it?As for the repeated comments that McIlroy bottled it...why? because he did not win? neither did around 90 other golfers. Are they all bottlers too?
