England's Danny Willett and Justin Rose are three shots behind leader Patrick Reed after impressive third rounds at The Northern Trust in New Jersey.

A five-under 66 moved Willett to 11 under, while Rose signed for a 69.

Reed shot a 67 to lead on 14 under, one clear of Mexico's Abraham Ancer (68).

Brandt Snedeker's 63 lifted him to joint third with Spain's Jon Rahm but second-round leader Dustin Johnson (74) slipped back to nine under, a shot behind Rory McIlroy who carded a 70.

'I'm right there' - McIlroy in contention at Northern Trust

The Northern Irishman, who missed the cut at The Open last month, had a mixed round with five birdies and four bogeys.

Bryson DeChambeau, who was criticised for his slow play during the second round, hit a level-par 71 to remain on six under.
