Loughborough University's deputy director of sport Andy Borrie has been appointed to the board of Great Britain Hockey as an independent director.
Borrie replaces the ECB's David Collier who completes his four-year term.
The 48-year-old, who plays for his local club Loughborough Carillon, has extensive experience as a consultant in world-class sport science.
"It is an exciting opportunity to help Great Britain Hockey build on its recent success," said Borrie.
President of Great Britain Hockey Richard Leman added: "We would like to thank David Collier for the time and commitment he has given Great Britain Hockey; his views and opinions have always been highly respected.
"We now look forward to welcoming and working with Andy, whose skills and expertise I am very confident will be a superb addition to the board."
Borrie, who leads Loughborough University's performance system and works with sporting national governing bodies to enhance their performance programmes, will take up his position on 1 September.
