Leicester Ladies lose to Den Bosch in Champions Cup final
Leicester Ladies fell at the final hurdle as they lost the EuroHockey Club Champions Cup final 4-1 to Den Bosch.
Having edged past English rivals Slough 2-0 on penalties in the semi-finals, Leicester were hopeful of a gold medal.
However, they were outclassed by their Dutch opponents, who stormed to their 12th successive title despite Leicester's Crista Cullen's opener.
It represents the 12th time a British women's team has finished this competition as runners-up.
Reading were the last British men's team to be crowned European club champions when they triumphed in 2003.
