Ireland's men clinch victory in Champions Challenge II

Ireland's men beat France 4-2 in the final of the Champions Challenge II tournament in Lille on Sunday to secure promotion to the top division.

Ronan Gormley and Eugene Magee scored first-half goals for the Irish although Matthiew Catonnet pulled a goal back for the French before the break.

Andy McConnell's restored Ireland's two-goal advantage before Martin Genestet replied for France.

However, Gareth Watkins hit Ireland's fourth goal on 55 minutes.

Ireland manager Peter Jackson was pleased with the team's performances in France.

"It sets our stall for further momentum as we prepare for the upcoming Europeans," said Jackson.
