Ireland beaten by India in penalty shoot-out

Michelle Harvey put Ireland ahead against India on Sunday

Ireland finished last in the Four Nations tournament in Buenos Aires after losing to India on penalties in the third/fourth place play-off.

Michelle Harvey gave Ireland a 51st minute lead but India levelled five minutes later through a Deepika goal.

There were no further goals in extra-time and India won 4-2 in the penalty strokes shoot-out.

Another competition involving the four countries will take place in Buenos Aires from 14-18 December.

Ireland were beaten 2-0 by South Africa in their opening game but went on to defeat India 1-0 before drawing 2-2 with hosts Argentina.
