Ireland were beaten 4-1 by India in their final match in the Four Nations tournament in Argentina on Sunday.

In their third and fourth place play-off game in Parana, Aine Connery put the Irish ahead before the Indians levelled before half-time.

India took the lead on 58 minutes and two goals in the final three gave the scoreboard a harsh look for the Irish.

The Irish had defeated India last week in Buenos Aires before losing 2-1 against the same opposition.

Gene Muller's squad were using the two tournaments as preparation for the final Olympic qualifying event in Dublin from 10-18 March.

On Saturday, the Irish lost 2-1 to the hosts in Parana.

Argentina led 1-0 at the break thanks to a penalty stroke but Ireland levelled when Audrey O'Flynn dragged home a penalty corner.

The winner for Argentina came in the 66th minute from a penalty corner.

Ireland, who drew 2-2 with South Africa before losing 2-1 to India, will face India on Monday in the third/fourth place play-off.
