Cornish hockey hoping for London 2012 Olympic boost

Hockey authorities in Cornwall are aiming to increase the numbers playing the sport in the county off the back of this summer's Olympics.

Barbara Reynolds, the England Hockey Board relationship manager for Cornwall, hopes any success in London will rub off locally.

"We need to capture that increase from the general public in the sport," she told BBC Radio Cornwall.

There are currently 14 hockey clubs in Cornwall.

"Hopefully we will be on the medal podium for both the men and women," Reynolds said.

"One thing we've got to do within the county is capture that and try and promote our hockey clubs and all the hockey participation that's going on within the county," she added.
