Guernsey have established themselves as one of the teams to beat in the EH Trophy

Guernsey coach Andy Whalley has praised his side's defence after they beat City of Bath 2-1 to progress to the quarter-finals of the EH Trophy.

Having conceded from a first-half penalty corner, Zak Damerell and Ben Cormack scored after the break to keep the reigning champions run going.

"The defence was outstanding," Whalley told BBC Radio Guernsey.

"Out game plan was to reduce the number of short corners they had. We reduced them to three and they scored one."

The island side will now travel to play Stourport in the quarter-finals next month.
