Walsh 'baffled' by whip ban

Jockey Ruby Walsh is "baffled" by the British Horseracing Authority's decision to uphold his five-day ban for over using the whip, and says the ruling is "disappointing for British racing".

The Irishman struck his mount nine times, one more than the maximum under controversial new whip rules, when winning by a nose in the race at Aintree on 23 October.

Walsh says more "common sense" is needed when introducing new rules to the sport and there is "little room for error" now.
