Dvinsky set a British modern-era record for competing in the most races when he made his 218th start at Wolverhampton.
The 11-year-old racehorse is in his 10th season and beat Sharp Hat's five-year-old record when he finished ninth in the 32Red.com Handicap.
The Paul Howling-trained gelding, which ran for the 217th time last week at Kempton, was ridden for the 27th time by Tom McClaughlin.
Dvinsky has won 19 races and amassed more than £117,000 in prize-money.
Howling said: "He is better at Kempton but we came here to break the record and we will see what is around. He's still in good heart and will win again."
McLaughlin added: "They went very hard, probably too hard for the old boy, but he's come back sound and lives to fight another day."
It was Dvinsky's 34th Wolverhampton appearance, a course where he has won twice and been placed on a further nine occasions.
