Australian jockey Carly-Mae Pye has died after a fall in a training run at Rockhampton's Callaghan Park on Monday.
Pye was riding in a jump-out, which simulates the start of a race in barriers in non-race conditions.
The 26-year-old fell when the horse she was riding fell and fractured its legs. The horse was later put down.
Racing Queensland chief executive Darren Condon said Pye, a former equestrian rider, was "probably one of the hardest-working people in racing".
He added: "You wouldn't find a greater horsewoman anywhere in the state."
