So Beloved claimed a notable victory with success in the Betfred Mile on the fourth day of the Glorious Goodwood meeting.

The 10-1 chance, ridden by Daniel Tudhope was well placed throughout, tracking the early pacesetters.

He picked up well when called upon to beat Belgian Bill (20-1) by three-quarters of a length with The Rectifier (20-1) third.

"So Beloved has any amount of ability," said trainer David O'Meara.

"He showed that a couple of starts back at York when he won really well from a bad position. He settled well today and was given a great ride by Danny."

Meanwhile, Richard Hughes notched his second winner of the week a day before he hangs up his saddle for the final time on Saturday.

The three-time champion flat jockey put in a confident ride on Belvoir Bay to win the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Nursery Stakes.
