Belfast Giants defenseman Jeff Mason is staying with the Odyssey team for another season.
The 29-year-old Amnerican has re-signed after an impressive debut campaign in which he scored 32 points.
"I am excited to return to Belfast to finish what we started last season," said the Boston-born Mason.
"We were in the running for all three titles and this season I believe we will take the next step, in bringing them back to Belfast."
Giants coach Doug Christiansen is delighted to have Mason in his roster for the 2011/12 season.
"Jeff was unfortunate to take an injury early on in the season, but bounced back into scoring ways quickly," he said.
"His skating ability was a huge asset for us, allowing us to be aggressive on the rush and on the cycle. He is a leader and a player we can build upon.
"He was one of our best players down the stretch. He is a true competitor, most memorably last season scoring the penalty shot against the Coventry Blaze to put us through to the playoffs."
