MK Lightning have released Finnish forward Andre Smulter after three years with the club.

The 32 year-old scored 33 goals as MK finished the campaign as English Premier League play-off runners-up.

Defenceman Michael Farn, 22, has signed up for another season with Lightning while Nottingham Panthers 20-year-old Tom Norton has joined the club.

On Smulter's departure head coach Nick Poole said: "This move is part of a much bigger picture."

Poole, who has committed to the Lightning cause for another season, added: "On behalf of everyone at Lightning including our supporters, I want to thank Andre for everything he's done for us over the last three seasons, and give him our best wishes for continuing success wherever he plays next."

Earlier in the month it was announced veteran forward Gary Clarke would also be released.
