Belfast Giants outclassed Fife Flyers in Friday's Elite League clash at the Odyssey Arena.
Jeff Mason put the Giants ahead in the second minute and Adam Keefe, Ryan Crane and Brock McBride added further first-period goals.
Mason made it 5-0 and Danny Stewart's Fife reply only provoked Robert Dowd (two), Crane and McBride to add further second-period Giants goals.
The Giants face Nottingham at the Odyssey Arena on Saturday (1900 BST).
George Awada lined out for the Giants after coming out of retirement.
The 36-year-old has signed a temporary contract as an import player.
It was his first Giants game since the 2010 Playoff Championship win.
Awada is back living in Northern Ireland and he was contacted last week by coach Doug Christiansen to see if he was willing to return to the ice.
Early season injuries to current Giants captain Jeremy Rebek and forward Jon Pelle left the Giants with an open spot for an import player and Awada was asked to fill the place on a temporary basis.
