Nottingham Panthers forward Jeff Heerema is set to be out of action for at least two weeks after breaking his nose in Sunday's victory in Dundee.
The 31-year-old also suffered a concussion in an accidental collision with team-mate Matt Francis.
An article on the club's website said: "Jeff went straight in for full checks after the team got back from Scotland and the lay-off was quickly ratified."
Meanwhile, captain Danny Meyers is close to full fitness.
The British international had a shoulder operation in the summer and is yet to make an appearance this season.
"I have come this far now so there is no point in risking it," Meyers told the club website.
"If it is next week it is next week, but it is not going to be November which we first thought, so that's good news."
