The Belfast Giants were beaten in a penalty shoot-out after a 3-3 draw at Coventry Blaze on Sunday night.

Two Matic Kralj goals had the Blaze in early command before Benoit Doucet replied for the Giants.

Robert Farmer restored the two-goal gap but the league leaders hit back with short-handed goals by Darryl Lloyd and Mark Garside.

On Saturday, the Giants slipped to their second Elite League defeat of the season away to Braeside Clan.

Braehead surged into a 3-0 lead by the end of the first period thanks to goals from Kyle Bruce, former Giants player Mike Bayrack and Jade Galbraith.

Aaron Clarke gave the leaders hope by netting at the start of the second period but Drew Bannister sealed the Clan's win late in the game.
