Hull Stingrays coach Sylvain Cloutier pulled no punches in his assessment of his team's performance following two weekend defeats.
The Rays followed up a 6-1 loss to Nottingham Panthers on Saturday with a 3-2 defeat to Braehead Clan on Sunday.
Cloutier told BBC Radio Humberside: "We went to Nottingham and there wasn't even any effort.
"Against Braehead, we had a mental breakdown on the first and second goal which pretty much summed up our night."
He added: "It has been the same story all season."
Hull had won their previous two matches, including a 3-2 win over fifth placed Cardiff Devils.
