Nottingham Panthers against Belfast is huge - Jordan Fox

Nottingham Panthers forward Jordan Fox believes Saturday's Elite League match at leaders Belfast Giants could hold the key to their title ambitions.

Panthers are seven points adrift of Belfast, who have won both their league meetings this season, and a loss would realistically end their title chances.

Fox told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It's huge. We haven't played badly against Giants. They haven't seen our top game.

"If we can get a win and beat Fife [on Sunday], it'll get the ball rolling."

Panthers will play the Giants another four times this season and Fox, who has scored in both previous fixtures against Belfast, remains positive they can catch them.

"Maybe get a streak going and get back to where we were about a month ago, where we were in a really good position," he added.

"We're not going to win every game but we want to put ourselves in a good position where we can at least, during the last month of the season, be fighting."

Panthers are level on points with third-placed Sheffield Steelers but they have five games in hand on both their title rivals.
