Nottingham Panthers forward David-Alexandre Beauregard says a gruelling weekend schedule tested them to the limit in their weekend win-double.
Panthers won a vital away clash against Elite League leaders Belfast on Saturday night and then flew back on Sunday morning before beating Fife 4-1.
Beauregard told BBC Radio Nottingham: "We did a tremendous job in Belfast but with the travel it's hard.
"Sunday was a tough day but we battled through and played well enough to win."
Beauregard grabbed the opening goal on the powerplay late in the first period of Sunday's win at the National Ice Centre.
And further goals from Sami Ryhanen, Jordan Fox and Brandon Benedict eased any remaining tension and ensured Panthers have moved to within five points of Belfast.
Meanwhile Panthers have signed experienced forward Rhett Gordon.
Gordon, 35, played for both Ayr and Sheffield in the SuperLeague.
