Hull Stingrays Canadian forward Jereme Tendler has been suspended following a positive drugs test.
The test was carried out after the game at Coventry Blaze in January which the Stingrays lost 5-2.
A statement on the club's official website said Tendler is provisionally suspended pending the outcome of the remainder of the testing process.
"He is therefore prohibited from playing for the club until that is concluded," the statement confirms.
Tendler, who is the club's leading scorer this season, has requested a personal hearing with the drug authority WADA and neither he nor the club say they will make further comment.
The punishment for the offence ranges from a warning to a two-year suspension.
