Steelers setback all but ends Panthers title dream
Nottingham Panthers' title hopes are all but over after losing to Sheffield Steelers on Tuesday, their third consecutive Elite League defeat.
David Clarke and Rob Lachowicz scored for Panthers and Steve Bimstill and Colt King for Steelers to make it 2-2 at the end of the second period.
But Ryan Finnerty edged Steelers ahead in the third and an empty-net goal from Jonathan Phillips sealed the win.
Nottingham suffered a double weekend loss to leaders Belfast Giants.
They now trail the Giants by 10 points, having played the same number of games.
