Nottingham Panthers suffered their heaviest defeat of the season on Thursday night with an 8-3 loss at ninth-placed Dundee Stars.
It is the first time that Dundee have beaten the Panthers since rejoining the top flight last season.
Panthers, who had back-up netminder Dan Green in goal, scored through Sami Ryhanen, Rhett Gordon and Danny Meyers.
On Wednesday Nottingham had romped to a 5-1 victory in Belfast in the first leg of this year's Challenge Cup final.
Panthers return to action on Saturday with a trip to Hull, before hosting the Giants in the second leg of the Cup final, looking to lift the trophy for a third year in a row.
