Sheffield Steelers player-coach Ryan Finnerty says all the pressure is on Belfast for this weekend's crucial back-to-back games against the Giants.
The Steelers need to win both games against the current League leaders to keep their own title hopes alive.
Finnerty told BBC Radio Sheffield: "All the pressure's on them, we're going to take Friday as it comes."
Sheffield need to beat Belfast in regulation, with defeat on Friday handing the title to the Giants.
The 32-year-old is in his first season in charge of the South Yorkshire club having previously played for the Steelers between 2007 and 2009.
Finnerty says his side are ready for the challenge in Belfast and admits their fate is in their own hands.
"It's pretty rare in European leagues that you get in these situations so we're definitely up for it and the guys are excited," he added.
"The boys are confident, and we're playing good hockey right now heading into this challenge."
BBC Radio Sheffield will have full match commentary from the Odyssey Arena from 19:00 GMT on Friday and you can also listen live on the BBC Sport website.
