The Belfast Giants remain two points behind Elite League leaders Nottingham Panthers thanks to a 5-0 win over Cardiff Devils at the Odyssey Arena.
Andrew Fournier showed great poise and control to score with a fine solo effort after just 58 seconds and then Craig Peacock fired in on four minutes.
Fournier found the top corner of the net in the second period.
A comfortable victory was completed by goals from Adam Keefe and Damien Rycroft in the third period.
The Panthers defeated Fife Flyers 10-2 in their fixture on Saturday night and have a game in hand over Belfast.
The Giants had edged out the Devils 5-4 in a thrilling contest on Friday night.
Cardiff led four times in Friday's game but final-period goals from Kevin Saurette and Robby Sandrock helped Belfast take the vital victory.
Jeff Mason, Fournier and Darryl Lloyd scored Belfast's other goals.
Chris Blight put Cardiff ahead in the sixth minute and while Mason equalised three minutes later, a Luke Ferrara strike restored the Devils lead by the end of the opening period.
Fournier levelled at the start of the second period only for Stuart MacRae to give Cardiff the advantage again two minutes later.
Lloyd's goal restored parity eight minutes into the second period and the score remained unchanged for the remainder of the period.
Once again, Cardiff took the lead early in the final period thanks to a power-play effort from Jesse Gimblett but Saurette's strike 13 minutes from time was followed by Sandrock's winner four minutes later.
