Nottingham Panthers have added Canadian forward Lynn Loyns to the roster for the 2013-14 season.
The 32-year-old has 34 NHL games on his resumé, 305 games in the AHL and 207 in Germany's top-flight DEL.
He told the club website: "I can't wait to get there and show the best fans in the UK what I'm all about."
Loyns, who has also spent time in Austria and Italy, was born in Naicam, Canada and played in the NHL for both San Jose Sharks and Calgary Flames.
Coach Corey Neilson said: "Anytime you can bring in a player with NHL experience, a guy who has played over 300 games in the American league (AHL), is fantastic.
"He is primarily a defensive player and that's big thing for us. He's the real deal. He is a guy who has played at a very high level."
