Braehead Clan lose heavily on Champions Hockey League debut

Braehead Clan suffered a 10-2 defeat on their Champions Hockey League debut against Vaxjo Lakers.
The Swedish side went two up through Patrik Lundh and Ilkka Heikkinen before Sefan Meyer pulled one back for Clan.
Heikkinen, Robin Soderqvist, Lundh, Alexander Johansson and Linus Frberg added goals for Vaxjo before another Meyer reply.
And Johansson, Joakim Hillding and Mikael Johansson rounded off the hosts' win.
The Clan, the first Scottish team to play in the tournament, face ERC Ingolstadt in Germany on Saturday before taking on Vaxjo (29 August) and Ingolstadt (5 September) in Scotland.
The top two in Group 15 will progress to the play-offs.
