David Clarke praised Nottingham Panthers' professionalism after they booked a Challenge Cup semi-final place against Sheffield Steelers with a 10-7 aggregate victory over Braehead Clan.
Panthers eased to a 5-3 quarter-final second-leg win in Scotland with goals from Robert Lachowicz, Juraj Kolnik, Steve Lee, David Ling and Evan Mosey.
Forward Clarke told BBC Radio Nottingham: "It was very business like.
"They got a couple of soft goals at the end, but it was a great night's work."
Panthers are also in contention for the Elite League title. They are in fourth place, eight points behind leaders Cardiff Devils with three games in hand.
Clarke added: "We are in the mix in all the competitions and are playing really good hockey; it will be an exciting few months."
Panthers have a crucial weekend in the Elite League, starting with a home fixture against leaders Cardiff on Saturday and then an away game against fifth-placed Belfast Giants on Sunday.
