  6. Leicester 'better off finishing second'

    Leicester City's finances could be even stronger if they don't win the Premier League according to Kieran Maguire, a specialist in sports finance from Liverpool University.

    Finishing second would mean they wouldn't pay out as much in bonuses to the manager and players, but they would still cash in on being in the Champions League next season.

    Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will step up their pursuit of Real Madrid wonderkid Pedro Ruiz this month.

    The 16-year-old striker has come to the attention of England’s biggest clubs through his goal-scoring form for Real Madrid and Spain Under-16s this season, according to the Independent.

    2006: Chelsea won back-to-back Premier League titles after beating Manchester United 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. United striker Wayne Rooney suffered a broken metatarsal in the game, but was nevertheless later named in England's World Cup squad.

    UK Sport and British Cycling have announced that Annamarie Phelps will chair the jointly commissioned independent review into the latter organisation.  

    Phelps is chair of British Rowing, a trustee and vice chair of the British Paralympic Association, a board member of the BOA.
