'Neymar not for sale'

Football

Barcelona are not contemplating selling Brazilian forward Neymar, according to financial vice-president Susana Monje.

The 24-year-old's deal with the Spanish champions expires in June 2018 and the club are in talks to extend it.

Paris St-Germain, one of several clubs linked with Neymar, are reportedly ready to double his salary, but Barcelona are confident of keeping him.

"We have not studied the impact of hypothetically losing Neymar. We don't contemplate it," Monje said.

McGovern relaxed about finding club

Football

Northern Ireland goalkeeper Michael McGovern is confident he can find a club after helping his country reach the last 16 of Euro 2016.

The 31-year-old, who is out of contract at Hamilton Academical, has only conceded twice in three games - against Germany and Poland.

"I'm sure the club side of things will take care of itself," McGovern told BBC Radio Ulster.

"Playing well last night will have done me no harm either."

Queensland win State of Origin again

Rugby league

Dane Gagai's hat-trick helped Queensland beat New South Wales 26-16 to win their 10th State of Origin title in 11 years with a game to spare.

After two penalties for each side, Gagai ran 80 metres for a try put Queensland 10-4 ahead at half-time.

Gagai touched down again early in the second half, before Tyson Frizell went over to give the away side hope.

But tries from Gagai and Conor Oates either side of James Maloney's score for Blues secured the hosts' victory.

Togo do not want LeRoy to go

Football

The Togo Football Federation will not sack coach Claude LeRoy despite French prosecutors demanding he go to jail.

LeRoy is facing a case about his involvement in the fraudulent transfer of players at French club Strasbourg in the 1990s and 2000s.

Prosecutors asked the High Court of Strasbourg last week to jail LeRoy for two years, with 18 months of the sentence to be suspended.

"I know concerning Strasbourg that I'm completely clear," he told BBC Sport.

"All I have to do is wait the decision of the president of the tribunal on 13 September."

Dani King says she is "heartbroken" after being left out of the Great Britain road race team for Rio 2016.

Emma Pooley and Nikki Harris are expected to be chosen to support London 2012 silver medallist Lizzie Armitstead in her bid to win gold.

King, who won London 2012 track gold, questioned the selection of Pooley who has competed in only two races in 2016.

"I should have been selected. I should be second on the list behind Lizzie," she told the Daily Telegraph.
