    Jennifer McIntosh has won gold in 50m rifle prone at the European Shooting Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.

    The 26-year-old from Edinburgh accumulated a score of 619.1 in Monday's final.

  8. Schindler to stay with Huddersfield


    Huddersfield Town defender Christopher Schindler has signed a new three-year deal, with the option of an extra year.

    You may remember the German 27-year-old as the player who scored the winning penalty for the Terriers, which got them promoted to the Premier League via the Championship play-off final.

    Schindler joined the Terriers from 1860 Munich in June 2016 for a then club-record fee of £1.8m.

    The Daily Mail are reporting that Turkish side Antalyaspor have made a move to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, but the club president says Arsenal "want a lot" for the player.

  10. 'We’ll be with him every step of the way'


    Middlesbrough academy player Anthony Renton has been diagnosed with leukaemia.

    The 18-year-old defender, who signed his first professional deal at the Riverside in April 2017, has been admitted to the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle for treatment.

    "We were all saddened and shocked to the hear news about Anthony," said manager Garry Monk.

    "He's got our full support and we'll be with him every step of the way."

  11. Para-athletics back in London?


    The World Para-Athletics Championships in London was a huge success for the city. The event sold more tickets than the previous eight championships combined.

    And England's capital could be playing host again in 2019.

    UK Athletics chairman Richard Bowker says "that there is the will to make it happen" and the authorities are already in discussions.

    Britain finished with their best medals tally for 19 years this year, collecting 39 in total - including 18 golds.
