  4. 'Mitchell-Blake ran a solid race'

    Men's 200m final

    Michael Johnson

Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV

Mitchell-Blake will feel really good about this in the end. He ran a solid race here, taking things into account that he can be better.

He never gave up and kept himself in it, even though so many athletes were ahead of him on the bend and he didn't tighten up.

You can't panic and he didn't. He did the right thing.

    Denise Lewis

I was surprised how well she went (in the 200m).

Katarina knew what she needed to do and that she needed to make her mark in this event.

  7. KJT kept her cool

    Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill

London 2012 Olympic heptathlon champion on BBC TV

Katarina Johnson-Thompson kept a solid level of performance, she didn't falter under the pressure while some of the other girls have made quite a few mistakes.

She kept a level head and kept her composure. Now she's in the lead and heading into her strongest event.

    Women's pole vault

    Holly Bradshaw

"I've had so many fourth and fifth placings and to come away with my first outdoor medal - It's been such a great competition and I've enjoyed it so much. It's been brilliant.

"It's the first time in four years I've not has an injury or surgery so I've been able to put a good block of training together. Since I started in 2008, the work has paid off and I've had such a fun night.

"It's the first time my parents have come to an overseas competition and now they'll have to come to every one!"

  14. Watch out for Herman...

    Women's 100m hurdles

    Colin Jackson

Phenomenal. For someone so young, Elvira Herman was so cool and controlled and she stayed confident in her abilities technically - what a run.

  15. Elvira Herman (Belarus)

    100m hurdles

Elvira Herman leaps to the skies as she belatedly realises that she has held off the competition to claim gold.

Herman is the 2016 world junior champion. That is quite the transition.

  17. Thomas Rohler (Germany)

The event that is pretty much a German national championship.

Ultimately it was the German Olympic champion Thomas Rohler who emerged victorious with a throw of 89.74m, rather than German world champion Johannes Vetter or the second-best in Europe this year, and another German, Andreas Hoffman.
