  1. Goodbye from day six...

But what a day seven we have:

The women's 400m final featuring GB skipper Eilidh Doyle and

    The men's 200m final - Van Niekerk v Makwala.

    Until then.

  2. Felix joins Bolt & Ottey

    Allyson Felix

Allyson Felix might be a little bit disappointed but that bronze was her 14th World Championships medal.

It ties her with Usain Bolt and Jamaica's other great Merlene Ottey for most-ever at the championships.

  3. Kilty withdraws from relay squad

  4. Not that Miller-Uibo needs reminding

  5. 'If I had a hammer....'

    .

You might be able to see it - but somewhere in the netting rafters is a hammer which got stuck after Belarus' Zakhar Makhrosenka fail to navigate the chain and ball away from the caged area.

We think they're still trying to get it down. It's what you need if you're an official who's been sitting in the rain for more than three hours.

  6. 'So you don't want the DVD Shaunae?'

    Women's 400m final

    Shaunae Miller-Uibo

'Unfortunate' is a wholly inadequate word to describe the final moments of Shaunae Miller-Uibo's 400m final.

  7. We're still not sure Tianna!

  8. What happened to Miller-Uibo?

    Women's 400m final

    Denise Lewis

Olympic heptathlon gold medallist on BBC TV

I wonder if her quadriceps cramped up because if it's your quad, you can't lift your knee any further.

It didn't look like a hamstring - she would have collapsed on the track.

  9. The Scream - of delight

    Michael Johnson

Four-time Olympic gold medallist athlete on BBC TV

I have never seen anything like that. At the 200m mark it looked like it was shaping up to be a great race.

When an athlete pulls up and jumps in the air like that, it is normally a hamstring strain.

It doesn't look painful enough to be a full tear - she would not have been able to finish the race.

  11. Gold - Phyllis Francis

    Women's 400m final

Wow! What happened to Shaunae Miller-Uibo???

She was leading with.... about 15 metres to go.... then appeared to run out of steam or suffer a leg injury allowing USA's Phyllis Francis to sneak past. Francis recorded a PB of 49.92m.

Allyson Felix, going for her 10th world title, is pipped to silver by Bahrain's Salwa Eid Naser. Naser finished in 50.06 - yet another national record.

    Felix's time was 50.08.

  13. Felix set to win the 'decagold'?

    Women's 400m final

    Allyson Felix

Surely this is Allyson Felix's to lose? The American phenomenon goes for a 10th world gold medal in her seventh championships.

Olympic champion Shaunae Miller-Uibo (lane 7), of the Bahamas, looks like her nearest rival. They both run like they're not expending any energy.

Watch out for Bahrain's Salwa Eid Naser who broke the Bahrain national record for the second time at these championships. Her time of 50.08 seconds was the fastest in qualifying. She pretty much runs through the line.

  14. Funny, but not funny

Of course Belgium's Arnaud Art probably didn't see the funny side of this on Tuesday.

But if he sends the video to a popular TV show he might be able to pick up some cash. Which is surely some sort of consolation!

This is just an interlude before the final race.

  15. Are you an Omar fan?

    #bbcathletics

Andrew Barton: Omar Mcleod what an utter gent

Clare Kennedy: Omar McLeod comes across as a really nice guy - glad he got the gold

Ben Hills-Jones: Omar McLeod what a great guy

  16. ICYMI: Makwala reaches 200m final

    Men's 200m semis

And he didn't look ill nor tired.

  17. Warholm ends 30 years of hurt

That was Norway's first world track gold since Ingrid Kristiansen in 1987.

    Karsten Warholm
  18. Post update

    Colin Jackson

Two-time world 110m hurdles champion on BBC TV

    Karsten Warholm

Warholm decided to take it out from the start and they had to run him down.

It was a risky tactic to let him get that great start and not challenge him earlier.

An impressive performance from the young man. He has showed everybody he can take on the pressure of a major event like this and perform on the world stage.
