  2. Route to the semi-finals

    Russia won all of their group matches including 5-0 victory over Germany. And the two nations will come up against one another again in the semi-finals after the Germans piped England to second place in Group 2.

    Defending champions Denmark started the tournament as first seeds and beat France, Netherlands and Spain in their qualification group. They will face Netherlands again in the semi-final after they won their final group game against France.

  4. About the tournament

    The European Mixed Team Championships is held every two years with reigning champions Denmark hosting this years competition in Copenhagen.

    Eight qualifying teams, including England and Ireland, were placed into two groups, with the top two making it through to the semi-finals.

    Each match is made up of a men's singles and women's singles tie before a men's, women's and mixed doubles game with each tie worth one point.
