  1. Vince valiant in bat for Hampshire

    Lancashire 456 v Hampshire 109 & 84-2

    BBC Radio Lancashire's Scott Read:

"Hampshire have given themselves a fighting chance. James Vince and Will Smith batted superbly yesterday. Vince, in particular, under extra pressure due to a potential England call up tomorrow morning, stood up to a barrage of bowling from Neil Wagner."

  2. Current scene at Lord's

    Middlesex 203-3 v Nottinghamshire 354

Not looking great in the capital is it?

  3. Delayed start at Edgbaston

    Warwickshire 152 & 4-0 v Somerset 295 & 178

The only game I've failed to mention so far is at Edgbaston where Warwickshire have been set 322 to win.

They may have to wait for a while - it's rather wet in Birmingham.

  4. Chance for Vince to impress

    Lancashire 456 v Hampshire 109 & 76-2

Ahead of England's Test squad announcement on Thursday morning, James Vince resumes on 39 for Hampshire at Old Trafford.

  5. Glimmer of hope at Headingley

    Yorkshire 557-6 v Surrey 330

It's a fairly damp scene in Leeds, but the umpires are due to take a look around now.

  6. Scores

Here's how things stand this morning. I've copied and pasted 'start delayed, rain'

    Division One:

    Yorkshire 557-6 v Surrey 330 - start delayed, rain

    Warwickshire 152 & 4-0 v Somerset 295 & 178 - start delayed, rain

    Middlesex 203-3 v Nottinghamshire 354 - start delayed, rain

    Lancashire 456 v Hampshire 109 & 76-2

    Division Two:

    Leicestershire 332 & 132-6 v Northants 151 - start delayed, rain

    Kent 426-8 v Gloucestershire 337 - start delayed, rain

Glamorgan 42-4 v Worcestershire 456-6 dec - start delayed, rain

    Derbyshire 191 v Sussex 468-5 - start delayed, rain

  7. Delayed in Derby

    Derbyshire 191 v Sussex 468-5

    No play at Derby either.

  8. "Frustrating" weather in Leicester

    Leicestershire 332 & 132-6 v Northamptonshire 151

There will be no play before lunch at Grace Road.

  9. It's raining again

    Middlesex 203-3 v Nottinghamshire 354

Ah, any hopes of a 11.00 start at Lord's have been scuppered by Mother Nature.

  10. Delayed start at Canterbury

    Kent 478-8 v Gloucestershire 337

Our reporter at the ground, BBC Radio Kent's Ben Watts, says an early lunch is likely with play afterwards if there is no further rain.

  11. Wet weather in Wales

    Glamorgan 42-4 v Worcestershire 456-6 dec

Not looking great in the Welsh capital this morning where an early lunch has already been called.

  12. On time at Old Trafford

    Lancashire 456 v Hampshire 109 & 76-2

The hover covers are coming off and play is expected to start on time in the North West.

BBC Sport's Stephan Shemilt has more from Old Trafford:

"If you want cricket, come to Manchester, where the rain has relented and we're set to start on time. Indeed, it is the rain that has helped form an intriguing final day.

"If the wet stuff hadn't wiped out two sessions yesterday, Hampshire probably would not have had a sniff of saving this game."

There will be live radio commentary from Old Trafford on BBC Radio 5 live sports extra from 10.55.

  13. Possibly some cricket at Lord's

    Middlesex 203-3 v Nottinghamshire 354

The plan is to start on time at Lord's - but BBC Radio Nottingham's Dave Bracegirdle doesn't sound overly confident.

  14. The good old British summer

    County Championship - day four

    Damp Headingley

I closed yesterday's live text commentary by saying the weather forecast for today was looking a bit better.

Well I'm afraid to say that was rather optimistic as it's another soggy scene up and down the country.

It looks as though we're going to have delayed starts in most of our games - but we'll bring you as much coverage as possible.

    Welcome to day four.
