All that's left to do is remind you that the next Test begins on Friday at Old Trafford.

I'll leave you with Pakistan's extraordinary celebration. It really does deserve a salute.

  2. Post update

I think we're pretty much done here at the end of a wonderful day and a quite brilliant Test match.

  3. Post update

England bowler Chris Woakes on Sky Sports: "From a personal level, it is my best game in a England shirt but mixed emotions. It has been an average Test match for us, we played some good stuff, but not so good too in between.

"Playing more regularly, you gain confidence. I came into the summer with good rhythm with Warwickshire and you just want to get the ball down the other end, it feels pretty good.

"Me and Jonny Bairstow wanted to bring the score down in fives and they tried different stuff. We wanted to pick up the ones and twos and the odd boundary. The more the total came down, the more they would be under pressure."

Trevor Bayliss on Joe Root's promotion to number three: That first innings we saw what a difference that can make with a quality player at the top. He plays his natural game and puts the opposition on the back foot straightaway. He’d love to have both his shots back from this Test.

More from England coach Trevor Bayliss: We played a few shots across the line, to ordinary leg-spin bowling. All credit to Pakistan. They kept the pressure up all day.

Our movement from side to side has to be a lot better. We've got some work to do. From a fielding point of view it wasn't necessarily the dropped catches. We didn't have any spark, couldn't create chances, and put any pressure on the opposition.

England coach Trevor Bayliss on Sky Sports: "We're very disappointed with the way we started off.

"The fielding was ordinary in that first innings and it set the tone for the match.

"A few of the boys would like their shots back. There were some basic errors. I wouldn't be surprised if they came out full of beans in the second Test."

Man of the match Yasir Shah: "In the morning I came to bat, people were expecting me to do well and save Pakistan. My effort was to do well with bat, but I could not, so I tried to do it with the ball later on.

"The thing is the spinner is relied upon on the fourth and fifth day. The whole team supported me. They told me to bowl in one place. Mushtaq Ahmed also told me that, and said I would get that wicket.

"I am fortunate that Mushy is here and Intikhab Alam is our manager. They share their experiences and we execute that on the ground."

Man of the match Yasir Shah: "Thanks first to Allah, it was my first Test in England and that too at Lord’s and thanks that I was able to make a good performance.

"At the start when I began there was not much breaking up in the pitch, the odd-ball maybe. I concentrated on my action, on my line and length and Allah gave me success."

Mark Welburn: Hopefully England will lose their complacency now. But Pakistan, wow, just shows how good they can be......

More from Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq: "Everybody wants Mohammad Amir to play, especially the crowd. They want him to be in the game again and it is special for him. He got the opportunity and is part of the team that won the Test match, it is one of the most memorable days of his life and now he can start his career again. He is a good kid now and matured and can prove he is a good bowler.

"We always believe if we cross 300 runs, we are very much in the game. We have a top spinner and the bowlers can really put pressure on the opposition.

"As a team, we enjoyed the army camp and we have been working really hard. The crowd were really supportive and we love playing cricket here."

Pete Hardy: Well played Pakistan. the better attack and a crucial innings from Misbah were the difference.

Ayelet H Lushkov: Well done Pakistan! England top order shambolic - maybe time to rest Root?

Richie O'HaraBeamand: Well played Pakistan, brilliant first Test, hope Woakes keeps up this form.

Pakistan captain Misbah ul-Haq: "It is one of the top wins as captain and for Pakistan as a team. I am very proud of the team and the way they came out and showed really good skills. Today, mentally everybody was strong, and were patient. Everyone bowled well, especially Yasir Shah.

"It has been a remarkable turnaround after the 2010 incident and the team took responsibility. The players showed respect for the game over the last three years and we are the number three side in the world. The on and off-field discipline is really good. To win here speaks volumes."

  17. Post update

Speaking of celebrations, do yourself a favour and watch this. Lord's has never seen anything like it.

  18. Post update

The Pakistan fans are having a right old knees-up at Lord's. Everything Misbah says is cheered, well the name of Yasir Shah is chanted after he is named man of the match.

  19. Post update

More from Alastair Cook: "We'll never tell people how to play, it's up to individuals. We weren't good enough. We were always two wickets behind where we wanted to be.

"We've lost games before and bounced back.

"Stokes and Anderson not being here was not why we lost. It's great that they are back. We digest what's happened there then pick a squad.

"Credit to Pakistan, they played a good four days. We're confident we can beat them but we have to play better."

    Geoffrey Boycott

Ex-England batsman on BBC Test Match Special

Finn has to go, as much as I love him dearly. He bowled better in second innings, but Anderson has to come back for him. I don’t think Ben Stokes is going to be fit. He's been a long time out. If he is, Jake Ball will go for him.
