  3. Returning Fell leads Worcestershire reply

Close, day two: Worcestershire 193-7 v Leicestershire 407

Day two at New Road was all about Tom Fell, who scored 61 in his first innings since returning to Worcestershire's Championship side after recovering from cancer treatment.

Earlier, Ned Eckersley's 92 not out helped Leicestershire to a first-innings total above 400.

And, having taken a couple of late wickets to leave Worcestershire 193-7 and more than 200 runs behind, the visitors are well on top in this Division Two fixture.

  4. Notts edge ahead at Trent Bridge

Close, day two: Notts 303-5 v Lancashire 276

Nottinghamshire will be happy with the position they find themselves in at the end of day two against Lancashire at Trent Bridge.

Fifites from Jake Libby and Samit Patel gave the hosts a lead of 27 runs with five first-innings wickets remaining, when bad light brought play to an early end.

  5. 50 for Patel

    Notts 302-5 v Lancashire 276

Samit Patel has 50 for Nottinghamshire, who lead Lancashire by 26 runs towards the end of day two at Trent Bridge.

His half-century came off 77 balls and contained seven fours.

  6. Sussex on top at Hove

Close, day three: Sussex 552-5 dec v Glamorgan 335 and 30-1

A 294-run partnership between Luke Wells (181) and Ben Brown (159 not out) put Sussex in complete control of their Division Two match with Glamorgan at Hove.

Declaring with a first-innings lead of 217 runs, Steve Magoffin removed Nick Selman before the close and the home side require nine more wickets on the final day to boost their chances of victory.

  7. Play abandoned at Scarborough

Close, day two: Yorkshire 407 v Middlesex 130-2

The weather has beaten Yorkshire and Middlesex, as bad light brings an early end to play of day two.

Gary Ballance was dismissed for 132 as the champions passed 400 in their first innings, while Middlesex were solid in reply before bad light and rain intervened.

  8. Post update

Into the closing stages of today's play - there are three matches still ongoing, while a fourth - the Yorkshire v Middlesex game - hasn't yet been called off for the day. That's despite the players being off for bad light for the best part of half an hour now.

  9. BreakingRESULT: Warwickshire beat Surrey by 10 wickets

    Surrey 273 & 177 v Warwickshire 449 & 5-0

A second win of the season for Warwickshire, who beat Surrey by 10 wickets in Division One.

The Bears made light work of their run chase, reaching their target of two off just five balls.

    I jest, of course.

Jeetan Patel was their bowling hero, taking 5-61 in Surrey's second innings to finish with match figures of 10-123 at Guildford.

  10. Essex dominate at Chelmsford

Close, day two: Essex 480-6 v Kent 207

Definitely Essex's day at Chelmsford, where day two has come to an end.

Half-centuries from Ravi Bopara, Tom Westley, Dan Lawrence and Ryan ten Doeschate have taken the hosts to 480-6 in their first innings, a lead of 273.

  11. Play resumes at Trent Bridge

    Notts 282-5 v Lancashire 276

Nottinghamshire and Lancashire are back on at Trent Bridge, where the light has improved. There are 12 overs left to be bowled on day two.

    Riki Wessels
  12. Warwickshire require two to win

    Surrey 273 & 177 v Warwickshire 449

Surrey's misery is complete. They've lost nine wickets since tea and they're bowled out for 177 in their second innings at Guildford.

That leaves Warwickshire two runs to win. TWO. I think I could even get those.

In Division Two, Sussex have made an early breakthrough against Glamorgan - Steve Magoffin has Nick Selman lbw and the Welsh side are 16-1 in their second innings, 201 runs behind.

  13. Five-wicket haul for Patel

    Surrey 273 & 177-9 v Warwickshire 449

Jeetan Patel - take a bow.

The Kiwi off-spinner bowls Stuart Meaker to claim his second five-wicket haul of Warwickshire's Division One match with Surrey.

He currently has match figures of 10-123.

  14. Surrey avoid innings defeat

    Surrey 273 & 176-8 v Warwickshire 449

It's official - Warwickshire will bat again.

Steven Davies hits a four and then nudges a single off Boyd Rankin to move onto 43 not out and bring the scores level.

However, barring a miraculous late-order salvo, the Bears won't be chasing very many for victory.

  15. Bad light stops play

    Yorkshire 406 v Middlesex 130-2

    They're off again at Scarborough.

The players returned to the field at 17:35 BST, but only 10 minutes were possible before bad light intervened once more.

  16. Two wickets needed for Warwickshire

    Surrey 273 & 170-8 v Warwickshire 449

Big Boyd Rankin is getting in on the act now, claiming Surrey's eighth second-innings wicket at Guildford.

Gareth Batty is caught behind for four, and Surrey need another six runs to make Warwickshire bat again.

  17. Durham's weather woe

Close, day two: Durham 79-2 v Hampshire 472-9 dec

BBC Newcastle's Martin Emmerson at Chester-le-Street:

"27 overs were lost to the weather in Chester-le-Street as day two met a soggy end, with the hosts 393 behind at 79-2 in their first innings.

"That's now 655 overs this season in all competitions for Durham and they haven't had the worst of the weather either!"

  18. Kohler-Cadmore departs

    Worcestershire 170-4 v Leicestershire 407

Worcestershire have lost another wicket in reply to Leicestershire's 407 all out at New Road.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore is trapped lbw by Charlie Shreck for eight, leaving the hosts 170-4 with 14 overs of day two remaining.

  20. WICKET (Lawrence c sub b Denly 82)

    Essex 458-6 v Kent 207

    Dan Lawrence

Does no Essex batsman fancy getting a ton today?

Ravi Bopara and Tom Westley narrowly missed out earlier on, now Dan Lawrence falls for 82.

Lawrence and Ryan ten Doeschate put on 101 in 18.4 overs for the sixth wicket. Essex's lead stands at 251 runs.
