  1. Aus 205-4

    Trail by 77

Fetch that one! Healy takes Brunt on with a lofted pull over mid-wicket, to warm applause as it pushes Australia's score past 200. Two more singles, Australia are going along nicely - where do England go from here?

  2. Post update

    Charles Dagnall

    BBC Test Match Special

Because the pitch doesn't churn up in the follow-throughs, spinners won't get the traction that they might do after two or three days.

  3. Aus 199-5

Alyssa Healy knocks Ecclestone for a single, while Charles Dagnall on TMS tries to recall the "one for sorrow, two for joy" nursery rhyme about magpies...

  5. Aus 198-5

Perry, 18 away from her maiden international century in any format, continues to show Brunt a straight bat. Maiden over.

And there's a bird on the outfield. For fans of ornithological fielding remarks, there is quite literally... a plover at cover. There's got to be a limerick in there somewhere?

    Mel Jones

Former Australia batter on BBC Test Match Special

I can see one possible reason why they started with Ecclestone. Even though Brunt got Healy in one of the one-day internationals, Healy has had her measure most of the time. But I'm sure Brunt would still have been saying "give me the ball".

  7. Aus 198-5

    Perry 82, Healy 7

Healy plays out a maiden from Ecclestone, who has been largely unthreatening with the ball this morning.

  9. Aus 198-5

    94 overs

Perry tries a dab to third man, but it just trickles to Lauren Winfield, who's the solitary slip at the moment. Some good line and length from Brunt bring her another maiden over (and earn her a guzzle of water from the 12th man between overs).

And a great stat from the TMS scorer Ric Finlay - no Australian has scored a run the ball after hitting a boundary in this match. He wonder if that says something about their mindset?

  10. Post update

    Charlotte Edwards

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

Heather Knight said to me this morning that when they got rid of the first ball yesterday, it looked as though a dog had chewed it - it was really bad.

  11. Aus 198-5

    Perry 82, Healy 7

A misfield from Laura Marsh allows Healy to run a two backward of square leg - while Ecclestone has her head in her hands as Healy cuts and misses at one which keeps low and disappears into the gloves of keeper Sarah Taylor.

If you've not seen Taylor's catch yesterday which dismissed Elyse Villani, it's worth searching for on social media. An extraordinary take.

  12. Aus 196-5

    Trail by 84

Brunt furiously polishes the ball on her flannels, but it's not gone her way yet today. A leg bye is the only blemish in the over, but Australia have been on cruise control so far.

  13. Post update

    Charlotte Edwards

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

I'd imagine Katherine and Anya would have liked to have taken the new ball together, as it was only five overs old. They may have wanted to start with a left-arm spinner because Healy was there.

Charles Dagnall adds: If it's going to swing, it's going to swing in the first 10-15 overs of the innings. You've got to make use of that. If I were Katherine Brunt, I'd be screaming to bowl.

  15. Aus 195-5

    91 overs

Despite having been hit for three boundaries in her first couple of overs today, it's still Ecclestone for now. And it's a better over from the teenager, with Perry using her feet well but hitting the ball straight to fielders.

  16. Post update

    Charlotte Edwards

Ex-England captain on BBC Test Match Special

The pitch is a big factor in women's Test cricket. The pitch at Perth in 2014 was quick, and produced the best Test I ever played in. That's something we need in women's cricket.

  17. Aus 195-5

A change of bowling as Katherine Brunt replaces fellow right-arm quick Anya Shrubsole. There's a slip in, Brunt probes outside Healy's off stump but the Aussie keeper is equal to anything Brunt can bowl at her. Maiden over.

  19. Aus 195-5

    Perry 82 (185 balls)

Perry aims a full-blooded pull shot at Ecclestone but can't connect. However, she's carefully judging each ball on its merits. Perhaps she knows of Charlotte Edwards' pledge to eat her hat? And Perry is rewarded for her patience when a wide delivery is fluently cut for four. That's four boundaries already today, in contrast to the slower scoring rates over the first two days.
