  2. Post update

England all-rounder Ben Stokes, speaking to Sky Sports: "It's always good to get some time out in the middle. I've been a spectator over the last couple of years. It's not a bad place to sit and watch but before the World Cup starts, it is nice to get some time in the middle.

"A lot of credit has to go to our openers, whether it's Vincey or Jason or Jonny. They control the run rates in these chases, evne if we lose quick wickets.

"You're never 100% fit but all should be well come the World Cup. Tonight will do the dressing room a lot of confidence, knowing that when we lose a few quick wickets we are still able to come through."

    Michael Vaughan

    Ex-England captain on TMS

I think David Willey is the one that may miss out. He doesn't deserve to not be in the squad, not one player deserves to be left out.

Whoever Morgan has to meet it will be a horrible, horrible conversation.

I would err on the side of David Willey. I am glad I'm not Ed Smith or Eoin Morgan because it will be a horrible conversation they will have to have on Monday.

  4. Post update

England captain Jos Buttler: "To get there in the final overs under pressure was great. Ben Stokes and Tom Curran put together a great partnership under pressure. You have to find a way to win.

"I thought we did well in the field too. As daft as it sounds, I thought we did well with the ball to restrict them to 340."

  5. Post update

    Michael Vaughan

    Ex-England captain on TMS

England's bowling can improve. I think they can set a few better fields. I think they can shut off areas of the field with the areas they bowl in to.

They are the plans that need to be in place for this World Cup.

  6. Post update

England captain Jos Buttler on TMS: "A very good win. For the large majority of the game we were very good. We had a really poor couple of overs with the bat which is disappointing but for Ben Stokes to be there at the end have a great partnership with Tom Curran proves well for us.

"However many runs they score it is about scoring one more than them and doing that any way we can we wanted to be more clinical from the position we got into but it is about winning and finding ways to win.

"I think the bowlers did brilliantly today. 340, as silly as it sounds, was a few under what we could have been chasing after Pakistan got off to a great start. We have seen scores getting higher and higher. 340 wasn't a massive score to chase today.

"It [final World Cup squad] is a really tough decision for the guys to have to make but what is great for us is guys standing up. Tom Curran had a fantastic all-round day today."

  7. How's stat?!

    Andy Zaltzman

    Test Match Special statistician

England have now won 17 matches in a row chasing at home. That goes back to the summer of 2016.

  8. Man of the match

England's Jason Roy: "We got there in the end and for me it was nice to convert a score in this series. I knew when I got out that the job wasn't done but the boys finished it off well."

  9. Post update

    Michael Vaughan

    Ex-England captain on TMS

Jason Roy is a wonderful player. He said he wasn't at his most fluent. I dread to see him when he is fluent.

He has got a skill level that he can destroy other attacks. He will be a nightmare for opposition teams to set fields to.

  10. 'I only had a couple of hours sleep'

    BBC Test Match Special

England centurion Jason Roy on TMS: "I'm not in the form of my life. It was not my most fluent of innings but was it was an extremely special feeling get over three figures. I didn't see it coming.

"I had a bit of a rough morning so this one is a special one for me and my family.

"It was my little one. We had to take her to hospital at 01:30 in the morning. I stayed there until 08:30 and came back for a couple of hours sleep and got to the ground just before warm-up and cracked on. It was a very emotional hundred."

  12. 'Our fielding was not good'

Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, speaking at the presentation: "Definitely tough luck for us. We put runs on the board but our bowling was not up for the mark and our fielding not so good as well.

"I think if we fielded well and took catches, there were enough runs on the board. We've been working very hard on our fielding. We have to improve it.

"Imam will hopefully be okay, a little bit of bruising on his elbow, but I'm not too sure about Mohammad [Amir]."

    Michael Vaughan

    Ex-England captain on TMS

Pakistan are not far off. They have got three good scores. If their fielding can get to a reasonable standard - some of the fumbles weren't even amateurish - I have seen enough that they will threaten a lot of teams in the World Cup.

  15. Post update

It was a chase built on Jason Roy's century - and some terrible Pakistan fielding.

Moeen Ali played a really bad shot. He is a better player than that. Jos Buttler played a similarly not great shot.

If I was an opposing team watching England tonight I would get some positivity about the way England performed. There are warning signs.

Ben Howard: Perfect time for Stokes to find some form. Most important win for England in the build up to the World Cup. I would have been questioning Stokes place in the side before that performance. Big win.

  18. Post update

No Bairstow, no Morgan, a two-ball duck for Buttler, and England have still knocked off 341 runs to win.

There's some strength in that team.

  19. How's stat?!

    Andy Zaltzman

    Test Match Special statistician

That is England's third successful chase of over 340 this year. In the entire history of ODI cricket only 12 teams have done it.
