When you've been on the end of a game like this, it's easy to be over-critical of your team. But there are a lot of games to go.

  3. 'A good all-round performance'

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson: "It's a great start for us."

On the bowling attack: "There's some variety there - and you want a balanced attack going into any surface. It is important that you have that to have aggressive options for different occasions.

"The two at the top played beautifully. It was nice for those guys to play a few shots. It was a good all-round performance."

  8. 'We need to think about the game'

Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne: "It was a good toss to win. In the morning it was seaming and swinging. They had that advantage and they have good bowlers to do that, so they took their chance.

"The batters aren't low on confidence. We batted well in some practice games and we work really hard. We need to think about the game. We are trying to go for the early overs. We need to give them a chance and then if you get set you can easily score some runs."

  9. Post update

New Zealand were not mucking around when it came to their chase.

  11. 'You don't get too many wickets like that'

Man of the match Matt Henry: "You don't get too many one-day wickets like that. It makes a massive difference when the fielders are doing the job like they have been doing.

"This is a tournament and games aren't won over one match.

"I really enjoyed my time at Kent last year. It's always good coming back here knowing you've played a lot of cricket."
