  1. Post update

We're going to call it quits at this point, while we go off and look for some more superlatives to describe Meg Lanning's innings.

Plenty more cricket to follow on the BBC - the TMS podcast is the best starting place to review the England men's Test win over Ireland, there's more T20 Blast commentaries tomorrow, and then on Sunday England's women will look to pick up the pieces against Australia at Hove.

I hope you'll join us then. Bye for now.

It would have been a world record run chase from England, but they never really got going:

As I'm sure Lanning would say, she was well supported by Beth Mooney and Ash Gardner:

  7. Post update

Australia coach Matthew Mott on Sky Sports: "We came here today with an job to do, the Test match wasn't the result we were after but this was a great advert for T20 cricket. I've not seen too many better innings than Meg Lanning's in T20 cricket, full stop. Beth Mooney also set the tone early, having the left-hand/right-hand combination really helped us. We've still got two more games, but this was a great start for us. It seems like we've dominated this series, but those first couple of games could have gone either way. Our fielding effort was really important tonight."

  8. Player of the match

Australia captain Meg Lanning on Sky Sports: "We've been searching for that perfect game, but we were able to set the tone early."

  9. Post update

England captain Heather Knight on Sky Sports: "Credit to Meg, it was an outstanding innings from her. We haven't been up to the standards we set ourselves, and Australia made us pay. We were a little bit sloppy in the field which set the tone for the day. But we have to try and park this quickly - I'm sure we'll debrief the series fully after it's over, but we've got to adjust quickly for Hove."

  10. WATCH: Marsh bowled for 25

Laura Marsh hit two sixes in an entertaining 25 from 12 balls - here's how it ended for her:

    Ebony Rainford-Brent

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

Australia are playing classy cricket, they are a fabulous team. Hopefully England can get a day of rest in and have another charge. Well done to Chelmsford for producing another brilliant wicket.

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

If there was ever a moment to get back in - a change of format, a couple of fresh players, it was tonight. And the result hasn't been great - look at the way Australia walked off. It wasn't a "we've won the Ashes" walk-off, I think they feel they've got more work to do. They're out for blood.

    Ebony Rainford-Brent

Ex-England batter on BBC Test Match Special

There is a gulf at the moment. If England say there isn't one, they're fooling themselves. They've got a lot of work to do - after these next two T20s, that's when the review has got to start.

  15. Post update

AUSTRALIA WIN BY 93 RUNS AND TAKE UNASSAILABLE 10-2 LEAD IN WOMEN'S ASHES SERIES.

It's England's biggest T20 defeat, but not Australia's biggest win. Just.

  16. Eng 133-9

Kate Cross, who has never batted in a T20 international before, swings and misses at her first delivery.. and that's that.

  17. WICKET

    Marsh b Schutt 25 (Eng 133-9)

Marsh's cameo ends as she is bowled.

  18. Eng 133-8

Marsh goes high into the night again, Ash Gardner's underneath it at mid-wicket.. and lets it through her hands for six more! Schutt's furious.

  19. Eng 125-8

Megan Schutt to bowl the last over - and is shown no respect as Laura Marsh launches her for a six over cow corner! A good "crowd catch" by a lady in the front row.
